The Alex Rider seires
The Alex Rider series is one of my favorite series. Because it is exciting and fast gripping. It is about a fourteen year old boy that lives in England. his parents had died when he was very young and so he lives with his uncle. And he finds out that his uncle died in a car crash because he wasn't wearing his seat belt. But Alex was suspicious about this because his uncle was very careful and always wore his seat belt. So e started to investigate. he found his uncle sports car at the dump and the windshield has holes in it from bullets and the leather seats are all torn up. He wonders why the told him that he died i a car crash when it was clear that he had been shot. but who had done it and why. he then finds out that his Uncle had worked for Britain's spy company M1o6. And suddenly they want him to work for them.

Timothy Webster
Timothy Webster was known as Allan Pinkerton’s best and most famous active agent he was daring and yet very effective. He was born on March 12, 1822 in New haven, Sussex county, England. Webster and his family immigrated to America in 1830 and they settled in Prince Town, New Jersey. He was married to Charlotte Sprowles they had four children, two died young. Their son timothy junior was born in 1843. He joined the Union Army from Onarga, Illinois in July 30, 1862 and was wounded and captured in the battle of Brices. He had his leg amputated and he died on July fourth 1864. After finishing school in 1853 he became a policeman, he did very good. About 1854 a friend of Allen Pinkerton noticed him and suggested him for detective work. After accepting to work as a detective he quickly became there best agent.
I like Tim Webster because he was a good hard working man that tried very hard at what he did. He was also a good observer that’s what he was so good at detective work and at being a spy. Being a good observer is a good characteristic to have. Especially if you have a job like if you work at walmart and you purchase all the supplies if you are not a very good at observing than you may get some supplies when you could have got for a lower price and better value. You would have just wasted your money there right.
After Timothy Webster became a spy Allen Pinkerton thought it would be best if Webster and his family moved form Chicago. So he and his family moved to Onarga Illinois. In 1861 Tim Webster was assigned his first assignment as a spy. Timothy Webster and Hattie Lawton pretended to be husband and wife. He traveled to Tennessee and Kentucky and he was about to be arrested by a suspicious counterspy and took a train North. He pretended to be secessionist and joined the Son’s of Liberty where they discussed many battle plans and important documents. They had plans to murder President Lincoln before the next election, but Webster got word to him before he was assassinated and President Lincoln switched trains. If Tim Webster had not got word to Abraham Lincoln of the plot to assassinate him who knows how the war would have turned out. He was trusted with many of the Confederate battle plans and important documents. He also trapped and had many secessionists put into jail. He also joined a group called the Knights of liberty he arranged a federal troop raid on one of there midnight meetings he himself was allowed to escape and continue on gathering information.
Yes it was Timothy Webster who foiled many confederate’s plans without them figuring out who it was. After a while Timothy Webster became sick(the result of crossing the Potomac river a few times in frigid weather) and could no longer send information back to Allen Pinkerton. Allen Pinkerton became worried and sent two agents to find out what had happened to Timothy Webster they were recognized as Union spies and were put in jail, but they were released later. Before they were released they tortured them to try and find out their business and eventually cracked and tolled everything they knew about Webster. After a while they did and Webster, was put under arrest along with Hattie Lawton (she was eventually released in a prisoner trade). This was a big embarrassment to for the Confederates to find out that Timothy Webster was a spy since they had trusted him with many important battle plan’s and many of there vital documents.
Timothy Webster is also a hero because the spies like himself did the most dangeruos work he knew this from the start. He selflessly put others before himself he went right into enemy territory and gather information from some of the most powerful people. He could have just as easily quit and no one would have thought anything of it. Or he could just not have become a spy and stayed as a detective but instead he put his country before himself. All the men who went into the army were selflessly putting there country first, but not like the spies did. Some of them went into enemy territory and were captured and killed . Most likely the only thing they had to defend themselves with was there fists. These men were patriots and without them we probably would not have won the war.
When President Lincoln and Allen Pinkerton heard of the death sentence of Timothy Webster they tried to save him by telling the confederates if they killed Timothy Webster then they would kill one of there spies but they ignored they threat and on April 29, 1862 Richmond Virginia Timothy Webster climbed the stairs of the gallows and a black bag was put over his head and a noose was fitted around his neck and the trap door, opened but the knot came loose he fell to the ground. They picked him back up and they retied the noose and once again it was fitted around his neck and he said "I suffer a double death". The trap door opened but this time it worked. Timothy Webster was dead, he was hung twice. Allen Pinkerton’s best active agent was dead. after his death he was buried in Richmond Virginia. In 1871 his wife Charlotte ,hearing of his death, pleaded with her son-in-law to go find the body and bring it to her so it could be buried next to his fathers. His body was found and he was transferred and was buried next to his father and next to his son Timothy Webster Junior. There his body lay unappreciated.
After all he did this was how he was rewarded, after all that information he gathered he was hanged by that same country, his country, your country and my country. These men who hanged him where not bad men they were men who thought they were doing what was necessary by hanging this great man and a great spy.
I hope we can learn a lesson from people like this who do everything they can for their country and future generations and not even think about themselves. It was once said that bad things happen to good people. This is a true statement even thought it may seem like it is backwards because good things should happen to good people because they do good things right. Not necessarily because that is not how the world works. This is another reason I think he was such a good man because even thought he may have known this he did what he thought was right anyway even thought it meant death for him.
We should all read on these types of people and see what we can learn from them. We should all have a hero and try to become more like them. We will ourselves become better and others around us by the examples we set.

Was Sherman's Raid Right
By Tate Call
I think Sherman’s raid was necessary to win the war. Because it did do a lot of damage to the confederacy and discourage them. They may have gone a little out of there way to destroy some thing’s that wasn’t necessary. So I think it was necessary because if they hadn’t done it then it probably would have taken a lot longer to win the war than it already did.
They did it thought because there was a lot of blood shed going on and they wanted it to end as soon as possible. And this was a way to do that. Who knows what the turn out of the war would have been if we didn’t do Sherman’s raid?

Walle
last Saturday we went to see the movie Walle. It was a pretty good movie but I liked the movie Kung Fu panda better. My Dad said it made him chuckle once. In the movie walle everybody evacuates Earth because it is so polluted. And there on a ship in outer space and they have droids do everything for them they don,t even have to walk. So everyone becomes fat slobs until one of the probe droids sent to earth brings back a plant. Then they get back to Earth and grow more plant's.

My Poem
By Tate Call
The battle of bull run the south one this battle.
Many people thought the battle of bull run would be fun with all the guns.
The battle of Gettysburg was three days long.
At the battle of Gettysburg you could hear the canons rattle.
Mead was the general of the north.
Mead had to lead the union troops into battle.

why should I honor American's veterans
Why Should I Honor Americans Veterans?
Why should I honor American veterans? I should honor Americans veterans because they were willing to sacrifice their lives so that we can enjoy the rights we have today. If we didn’t have our veterans then we would lose many Patriot’s which would surely be the end of this country.
Veterans are all around us in our community’s or our relatives. By honoring these men and women you are being a patriot. When we serve and honor Americans it will show us how much they really mean to this country. And maybe someday we may even become veterans ourselves. My great-grandpa is a veteran he served in the army his whole life. He took his family to many countries such as Ecuador, Austria , Italy and Vietnam. While his family was in Ecuador they had a really mean guard dog named Auka but he was a good dog. There house had a fence and along the top there was broken glass in the cement to keep people out. While they were there my great grandpa was an adviser to the Ecuadorian engineer corp. he was a great man who should be honored because he dedicated his whole life to this country. He did this for us and our freedom’s. One of the greatest veterans in American history is George Washington. He helped win the Revolutionary War and helped write the constitution and he also tried to get rid of slavery. Without him we may have never became the you united states of America. He was also the first President he was very great and influencetional man. He was the most respected veteran of his time. And possibly still Americas most honored and loved veteran. he was one of the reason’s the colonist’s fought to form this country he was a great leader. And after we won the revolutionary war he was even offered to become king but of course he refused. We should always honor veteran’s because they helped our country in a time of need and sacrificed there life for us they truly are what holds this country together. There are many people like my grandfather who served there country these our those who gave there life for us. They sacrificed everything they sacrificed there lives we can not let that go to waste we must do everything we can for are country. Many gave there life’s but what have we given? .

When I went on a horse ride
While we were up hunting elk last week me and my grandpa went on a horse back ride. I had a lot of fun. and I had never ridden a horse by myself before. So when I got on and tried to back him up I kept holding the reins back to make him stop but instead he started gong backward instead. So then I made forward and then back and forth and I just kept dong it until I learned that you just pull back and then let go to make them stop. We had to up a lot in some pretty rocky eras. We turned around early though because the horse I was riding didn't want to go over a rock. I had a lot of fun even though we had to turn around early. besides my horse was getting tired anyway
Is a Compromise good or bad?
Is a Compromise good or bad
A compromise can be a good thing or it can be bad like the compromise we talked about in class all states South of Missouri were slave states every state North was a free state. And then the U.S. got the Utah territory and Utah got to vote wether it was a slave state, or not, and other states wanted to vote too. And 6he North and South just started to fight more and more. there are good compromises too say you wanted to play hide and go to seek but your friends wanted to play tag instead you could play hide and go to seek tag.
My example of a bad compromise played a part in starting the Civil war. These are only a few examples of compromises there are many more. like, so many other things compromises can be good or bad

Is Secession Constitutional?
Is secession constitutional
By Tate Call
No it isn’t constitutional. It is only constitutional if they are invaded and attacked. It may have been wrong what the south did but they thought they where doing what they thought they had to. There point of view was that the north was taking over and their wasn’t going to be any more slave states. And the North thought the same thing about the south in there opinion where doing they thought they had to just like the south. So nobody was really the bad guys it was just different point of view.
No one was the bad guy in the civil War it was just a different point of view. You can apply this to life if it seems like someone is just mean and does everything wrong try on there shoes and see if they are really as bad as you think.

When Evil is Being Done, it it Right to React With Evil?
When Evil is Being Done, is it Right to React With Evil?
No. Isn’t right o react with evil. Saintan makes evil look right and okay and he even makes it look logical. Like in entertainment such as movies and music. There is evil is everywhere. There is no escaping it. Yet there are people who decide to make no choice so they don’t make the wrong choice but they don’t make the right choice either. Thomas Jefferson said making no choice is far worse than making the wrong one. So we should not decide to not make a choice because we do not want to make the wrong one.
We should not fall in to sainten traps for it will only lead to misery. Like when ever you watch football there is always beer commercials and they make look like they are having a lot of fun but drinking can cause a lot of health problems. We should never react with evil.

Good and Bad Decisions
Good and Bad Decisions

a good example of a good and bad decision is Nephi and Laman ,Lemuel. Nephi followed the Lord and chose the right. Laman and lemeul always making wrong choices. When they went to get the gold plates Nephi and knew the Lord would help them. But Laman and Lemeul didn’t and beat Nephi up Instead.

what wouldn't come to my mind
I was sitting in my pajamas and trying to think of something to write on my blog today. Well I sat there with my thinking cap on and thought but nothing came to mind. And so sat there and thought and thought some more but still nothing would come to mind. so I thought as hard as I could yet still nothing would come to mind. and no matter how hard I thought still nothing would come to my mind. so here I am writing on my blog of what wouldn't come to my mind. The End.

My old dog Jazz
Monday September 15th My Old dog Jazz died. She was 14 1/2 in dog years was 101. She lived five years longer than most dogs. She loved to go fishing and hiking with us she used to crawl between my Dads legs and wait for him to catch a fish so she could eat the head and if she saw a fishing pole she would go hysterical. She lived a lot longer than any of us expected and we got her when Zack was just one she would always climb in Zack's window well but couldn't get back out again we always had to lift her out.

camp Bartlet
This summer our scout troop went to camp Bartlet it was a fun camp and took about two hours just to get there. We got there set up camp and got ready to take the swim check, the water wasn't that cold not nearly as cold as Loll's lake. After the swim check we messed around until it was time to go to merit badge classes. My favorite class was weather, my least favorite class was orienteering because most of the time we just sat there and talked. Then it was time for flag ceremony. We had a camp fire after that it was really fun they did skits and run ons (a short skit) until it got dark then we went back to camp and went to bed.

My Favorite Part of Summer Vacation
My favorite part of summer vacation was when we went to my aunts cabin. We went tubing, jet skiing, swimming and boating. We also watched movies and played with our cousins. We crashed a lot when we went tubing. When it got dark we would play games and watch movies. My aunts cabin has three floors with a big screen T.V. on each floor, it even has an elevator and it has seven master bed rooms. It is the biggest cabin I have ever been in. We had a lot of fun.
